Design: The old bodega was in need of a total renovation at the same time that it had many fine details, which gave it its unique character, and was to be kept.

The oversized fireplace and the old wooden beams at the loft and ceiling where design elements worth taking care of, which was problematic as the entire ceiling needed to be replaced and thus also the chimney for the fireplace. In the new design we put emphasis on keeping the original style and the finish result looks like it always looked like that.

It was updated with new electricity, plumbing and ventilation. The bathroom was completely renovated, but doors and windows were kept and in the living room we installed a mini kitchen. The former entrance under the loft became a closet outside the bathroom and the overisized fireplace now feels absolutely perfect in the room.
